Roles and Responsibility :

Job Description of Bridge Design Engineer

  1. Attend DFCCIL's review meetings
  2. Internal Communication
  3. Communication with Client
  4. Communication with Contractors
  5. Assist DFCCIL to provide technical data for stakeholder coordination
  6. Review Preliminary Design Submission
  7. Review Technical Specification document
  8. Review Design Manual
  9. Review Survey Report
  10. Review Utility Report
  11. Review Definitive Design Submission
  12. Review Interfacing Contract Report Document
  13. Review Hydrology Report
  14. Recommend for Approval of DFCCIL on GADs
  15. Recommend for Approval of DFCCIL on DD and DWGs
  16. Endorsement and Issue Non-objection Certificate to DD & DWGs
  17. Review of Temporary Work Design Report
  18. Endorsement and Issue Non-objection Certificate to Construction DWGs
  19. Issue Non Objection Certificate to shop drawings
  20. Request to the Contractor to prove through appropriate tests that remedial works have brought the works into conformity with the Contract.
  21. Review the As Built Drawings for each component of the works prepared by the Contractors and determine their acceptability.
  22. Responsible to obtain all records of completion drawings and completion documents from the contractor and prepare completion estimates in accordance with provisions of Indian Railways Engineering Code.
  23. Obtain duly classify and list all Drawings, Specifications, other Documents, results of tests and other relevant records, and transmit to DFCCIL.
  24. Prepare integrated periodical reports
  25. Scrutinize registration of daily consumption of material, various activities / output of design and construction activities to be maintained by contractor.


Desired Candidate :

Structural Design Engineer with B.Tech (Civil) not later than 2005. With more than 12 years of experience in designing or design review of railway related structures especially bridges.
